    CSR and Human Rights Policy

“Harnessing the power of nature, respecting the chain of life, for committed, desirable, and beneficial beauty.”

Anne-Sophie Nardy, Founder & President of On The Wild Side

On The Wild Side commits to respecting internationally recognized human rights, to avoiding causing or contributing to human rights abuses, and to preventing or mitigating negative impacts directly related to its activities, products, or commercial relationships. This commitment is in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP), the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the fundamental conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

    1. Our Mission and Core Values

On The Wild Side is a French brand of organic and 100% natural cosmetics, founded in 2019 by Anne-Sophie Nardy. With 12 years of experience in major cosmetic groups (L'Oréal, L'Occitane), Anne-Sophie Nardy chose to promote a radically different vision of beauty: a committed, desirable, and beneficial cosmetic that reconciles naturalness and efficacy.

At the heart of our model is a unique Patented Complex, combining two wild plants – detoxifying birch sap and regenerating beech bud – hand-picked in French forests by professional foragers. By growing in their natural ecosystem, these plants develop properties incomparable to those of cultivated ingredients. It is this power that we put at the service of the skin.

On The Wild Side is one of the few brands certified as Cosmos Organic, Vegan, and B Corp. These certifications are not just labels: they reflect our desire to have a positive impact by reinventing the way cosmetics are designed, produced, and consumed.

Since our creation, we have supported the French Association of Professional Wild Plant Foragers (AFC), of which we are also members. Through our participation in the association's life, our patronage actions, and our annual financial support, we contribute to the development of a responsible wild foraging sector and the preservation of biodiversity.

At On The Wild Side, we believe that respect for human rights is inseparable from our mission to develop cosmetics that respect nature. Taking care of the skin cannot be done without taking care of the women and men who help design, manufacture, and distribute our products, nor without preserving the ecosystems on which they depend. This conviction guides our decisions, our relationships with our stakeholders, and the way we operate our business daily.

    2. Management Commitment

The President of On The Wild Side, Anne-Sophie Nardy, formally commits to placing respect for people and the chain of life at the heart of all company decisions. This commitment goes beyond the regulatory framework: it is constitutive of On The Wild Side's very identity since its foundation.

    Specifically, Management commits to:

    • Integrating respect for human rights into all strategic and operational decisions, from product formulation to partner selection
    • Making this commitment a governance priority, reviewed annually as part of the B Corp recertification cycle
    • Ensuring the dissemination of this policy to all internal and external stakeholders, notably via the onthewildsidecosmetics.com website
    • Reporting transparently on our progress, true to the B Corp spirit that drives us

Our B Corp certification demonstrates our desire to integrate social, environmental, and governance criteria into all our activities.

    3. International Reference Framework

This policy aligns with internationally recognized fundamental texts on human rights and working conditions, which we consider as minimum standards and not a ceiling.

3.1 United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP)

On The Wild Side relies on the UN Guiding Principles (Ruggie Framework, 2011), based on three pillars: the state's duty to protect human rights, companies' responsibility to respect them, and victims' access to effective remedies. As a company committed to "conscious beauty," we consider that our responsibility covers our entire value chain, from wild foraging to delivery to the end customer.

3.2 Fundamental Conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO)

We refer to the eight fundamental ILO conventions, covering: the abolition of forced labor (Nos. 29 and 105), the elimination of child labor (Nos. 138 and 182), non-discrimination in employment (Nos. 100 and 111), and freedom of association and collective bargaining (Nos. 87 and 98). These principles apply to all our employees as well as our partners — especially the professional foragers with whom we work.

3.3 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR, 1948)

More broadly, our policy is guided by the universal principles of dignity, equality, and fair working conditions set out in the UDHR. They form the ethical foundation from which we build all our professional relationships.

    4. Scope of Application

This policy applies to all activities of On The Wild Side and concerns:

    • All brand employees (permanent, fixed-term, interns, apprentices, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers), based in France
    • Professional foragers and wild foraging partners involved in our supply chain
    • Laboratories and subcontractors who manufacture our products in France
    • Our commercial partners (distributors, resellers, points of sale: Galeries Lafayette, Sephora, pharmacies, and international partners)
    • Our customers, whether they purchase online or in-store

    5. Our Commitments to Human Rights

5.1 Dignity, Working Conditions, and Fair Remuneration

On The Wild Side guarantees all its employees a dignified, safe, and respectful working environment. We apply employment conditions that comply with applicable legal requirements and ensure fair remuneration, without discrimination. Our human-sized model allows us to maintain a direct and attentive relationship with each team member.

    5.2 Non-discrimination and Equality

Founded by a woman in a sector long dominated by large groups, On The Wild Side naturally embodies a culture of equality. We commit to practicing no discrimination based on gender, origin, age, disability, religion, beliefs, or sexual orientation at all stages: recruitment, remuneration, training, promotion.

    5.3 Fight against Harassment

On The Wild Side adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of moral, sexual, or discriminatory harassment. Any situation can be reported to Management or the Head of Operations, who commit to examining reports confidentially and without retaliation.

5.4 Freedom of Association and Social Dialogue

We respect and encourage the right of every employee to associate freely, to join a trade union of their choice, and to participate in collective bargaining, in compliance with applicable legal provisions.

5.5 Respect for Biodiversity and Foragers' Rights

Wild foraging is at the heart of On The Wild Side's model. We work with professional foragers whose expertise, rights, and working conditions we respect. We ensure that the economic valorization of natural resources is fair for all actors in the chain.

Since its creation, On The Wild Side has been a member of the French Association of Professional Wild Plant Foragers (AFC) and participates annually in its General Assembly, thus contributing to dialogue and the development of the sector. Beyond this commitment, we sustainably support the association through patronage actions and annual financial support, notably by donating the profits from our Green Week.

Through this partnership, we contribute to the development of a responsible wild foraging sector, the respect for foragers' expertise, and the preservation of biodiversity.

5.6 Transparency of Formulas and Consumer Rights

In line with our demanding cosmetic charter (products without essential oils or synthetic preservatives, certified Cosmos Organic and Vegan), we guarantee our customers clear, honest, and accessible information on the composition of our products. We consider the right to transparent information as a fundamental human right in the act of consumption.

5.7 Vigilance in the Supply Chain

In accordance with the spirit of the French law on the duty of vigilance (2017) and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, On The Wild Side exercises reasonable vigilance with respect to all its suppliers and partners. Our products are manufactured in France, which promotes proximity, dialogue, transparency, and monitoring of our partners.

On The Wild Side prioritizes partners located in France or Europe and strives to build lasting relationships based on trust, respect for people, regulatory compliance, and good environmental practices.

Issues related to human rights are taken into account in our purchasing decisions, particularly during the selection, evaluation, and monitoring of our suppliers. We integrate social and environmental criteria into the monitoring of our partners and prioritize suppliers who share our commitments to responsibility, ethics, and sustainability.

We also expect our suppliers, subcontractors, and partners to respect the principles set out in this policy, to implement practices consistent with internationally recognized human rights, and to cooperate with us in risk prevention and treatment procedures when identified.

    5.8 Protection of Personal Data

On The Wild Side commits to processing the personal data of its employees, customers, and partners with the utmost respect, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

    - Confidentiality of reports

    - Absence of any retaliatory measures against people acting in good faith

    - Serious and prompt handling by Management

Reports can be addressed directly to the President or the Head of Operations, by any appropriate means.

    8. Annual Review and Continuous Improvement

This policy is reviewed at least once a year or in case of significant changes in our activities, our supply chain, or the regulatory framework.

    Management specifically evaluates:

    - The achievement of objectives set for human rights and social impact

    - Applicable legislative and regulatory developments

    - The results of supplier and partner evaluations

    - Employee feedback

    - Feedback and exchanges with suppliers, partners, and actors in the supply chain

In a logic of continuous improvement, On The Wild Side commits to progressively strengthening its vigilance practices, dialogue with its stakeholders, and assessment of human rights risks.

    9. Link with our B Corp Commitment and our CSR Strategy

This CSR and Human Rights policy is directly part of our global CSR strategy, as championed by our B Corp governance. It feeds the five pillars of the B Impact Assessment:

    - Governance: protected mission, transparency, responsible manufacturing in France

    - Workers: dignified working conditions, equality, non-discrimination, prevention of work-related risks and continuous improvement of the physical well-being of teams, particularly through the implementation in 2026 of interventions by Kasper Viargues, osteopath/physiotherapist, at the office to support employees with work-related stiffness and tension

    - Community: AFC patronage, support for professional foragers, local economy

    - Environment: toxin reduction, 100% natural formulas, biodiversity preservation

    - Customers: transparency of formulas, clear information, demanding cosmetic charter

As a B Corp company, we are committed to continuous progress and to using our activities as a positive force for people and the planet — true to our mission: to reinvent the beauty of tomorrow.

    Policy Dissemination

This policy is made public on the On The Wild Side website. It is communicated to all employees upon its entry into force, as well as to our main suppliers and partners. It is integrated into our CSR approach and serves as a reference in our relationships with our stakeholders.
