Four years ago, I discovered the practice of wild harvesting while reading an article. Intrigued by these women and men who have chosen to live in harmony with nature, I decide to go and meet them in order to understand them better .
They are able to pick the buds at maturity in a spectacular setting of beauty.

There is no school for pickers; nature dictates what is right. Much more than a profession, picking represents a true art of living.

Harvested in a private forest in Gironde by Céline, an environmental lover, the birch sap used in our facial treatments comes from trees whose every story we know .
As for the beech bud , also a key active ingredient, it is picked by a cooperative of professional pickers in the Massif Central.
These two harvesting areas are certified organic by Ecocert.

Federated under the care of the French Association of Professionals of Wild Plant Harvesting (AFC) , these harvesters campaign for responsible and sustainable processes. Thus, they have created a guide of good practices to learn how to respect the plant, its harvesting, manage resources responsibly and guarantee the preservation of biodiversity.

We had the chance to visit various wild plant harvesting sites, including Céline's.

We met him at his site in Gironde to take part in the birch sap harvest with the entire OTWS team.

This is an opportunity for us to observe her work as a picker and her trees, without which nothing would be possible.
It is these encounters and experiences that have forged the values ​​of On The Wild Side , a new relationship with nature and with oneself.
