Many of you have asked us how to care for skin damaged by wearing a mask. Here are our In&Out tips for limiting the redness, irritation, and blemishes they cause.

Choosing the right fabric for your mask

The first step to limiting irritation and imperfections associated with wearing a mask is to choose the right fabric for your mask.

Synthetic materials like polyester are more likely to irritate and itch. We recommend masks made from soft, organic cotton, which will be less damaging to your skin.

INSIDE

To help your skin get rid of the toxins that are triggered by wearing a mask, we offer you a great detox water recipe by Céline Ruffet, founder of the beautiful, committed brand L'Infuseur.

Ingredients:

- 1 l of water

- 4 sprigs of rosemary

- 3 slices of peeled fresh ginger

- 6 slices of fresh peeled turmeric

- The juice of 1/2 lemon

- 3 cinnamon sticks

Lightly crush the ginger and turmeric slices with the back of a spoon. Place all ingredients in a teapot, pour in the simmering water, and let it steep for 7 minutes. Strain. Drink warm, then chill the rest in the refrigerator.

OUTSIDE

Under the mask, the skin dries out and becomes more sensitive.

The key to protecting your skin is maintaining its moisture levels . Our tip: apply a few drops of skincare oil every morning before applying your cream. The oil acts as a barrier and helps maintain a better level of hydration throughout the day.

Help your skin breathe

Under the mask, the skin tends to suffocate, sweat, and bacteria accumulate. This is the main cause of imperfections. It is essential to cleanse and purify it .

Our advice:

- During the day, limit makeup

- In the evening, cleanse your skin thoroughly with a cleanser and lukewarm water to respect the skin's pH.

- Once or twice a week, purify your skin with a gentle exfoliant or scrub. This is an essential step to limit the accumulation of dead skin cells.

For already weakened skin, we have created a Gentle Ritual which contains 3 essential steps to care for and repair it.
