“Making every moment enjoyable” is the key to happiness for Laura Vidrequin .
Founder of a second-hand website dedicated to children, Kids o'clock , Laura has lived in three major cities: Paris, New York, and now London. Three lifestyles that have taught her to enjoy every moment.
She kindly agreed to tell us her story and share some moments of her life as a female entrepreneur.

Can you introduce yourself in a few lines?

My name is Laura, I was born in Paris, grew up in New York and now live in London.

I am the mother of 2-year-old Albert, and I founded Kids Oclock, a second-hand marketplace dedicated to children.

I'm very optimistic, dreamy, and clumsy. I love cooking, even though I'm not very good at it!

How did you come up with the idea of starting your own business?

I never really had the desire or the idea of being an entrepreneur, but I always enjoyed managing many different situations in the companies I worked for, wearing several hats. Styling, purchasing, brand image, customer success, I was always interested in many different subjects. Being optimistic, I wasn't afraid to embark on the entrepreneurial adventure when my idea was validated by a panel of parents.

How do you balance your life as a mother with the pace of being an entrepreneur?

It's not always easy, but I have a few keys in hand. Delegation is one of them, and the second? Organization ! Even if I seem all over the place, I'm pretty organized. I write down everything, absolutely everything , in my Google Calendar, and I'm not afraid to set up really silly reminders like boiling eggs for Albie, or making granola.

It feels a bit like a machine at first, but I got the hang of it and I'm happy with it.

What are the little things that bring you happiness and inspiration every day?

Breakfast with my son, my walk to the office, a call with a friend. A matcha oat latte while reading my emails... I try to make every obligation enjoyable , and it's much more comfortable than waiting for the moment when I can take a bubble bath, two hours of yoga because at the moment, I only manage it so rarely.

A word for those who would like to get started?

Never underestimate the energy put into a project , it may not be "fruitful" right away, but if you are honest and sincere with yourself and others , success is already there.

And we stop comparing ourselves...
